13:46 Dance Ensemble Guidelines

Welcome to the 13:46 Family. In order to glorify God in decency and order, we hold a standard of excellence in all things. The following information outlines the procedures, rules, and regulations required of all members of the 13:46 Dance Ensemble. Information varies depending on the location.

D.I.G. (Deeper in God)

Bible study/soaking classes are held the first Thursday of every month (the day varies upon location); this class is mandatory. To minister effectively, we must cultivate ourselves as pearls and dig deeper into the Word and presence of God. This is done by learning how to call on the Holy Spirit, studying the Word of God, practicing in His presence, and discerning what the Lord wants to share.

Each member may be assigned a week to lead 13:46 in studying the Word. Members are only allowed one absence from the “D.I.G.” class and must be excused by the executive director prior to that class. If more than one unexcused absence occurs, the dancer will not be able to participate in the Encounter for that half of the season. The dancer, however, can still participate in the second Encounter, but the same rules apply. The expectations for the second half of the season are the same as that of the first.

Classes/Rehearsals

Classes and rehearsals are held weekly. Time and day vary upon location. Our expected end time depends on the flow of rehearsal. Members are expected to be in attendance every week. Members are only allowed three excused absences from regular classes/rehearsals (not including “D.I.G.” classes). An absence is considered excused when approved by the executive director prior to the class. If more than one unexcused absence occurs, the dancer will not be able to participate in the Encounter for that half of the season. The dancer, however, can still participate in the second Encounter, but the same rules apply. The expectations for the second half of the season are the same as that of the first. Dancers are expected to attend all classes/rehearsals. When preparing for the Encounters, additional rehearsals will be added. The exact dates and times for these rehearsals will be announced later. Please see your location director for correct dance season information.

Class/Rehearsal Uniform

All dancers are responsible for coming to class/rehearsal prepared. Dancers should be dressed in comfortable all black attire or 13:46 apparel. “Wrap arounds” are requested to cover dancers' bottoms. Please wear proper undergarments to hold everything in place. Stomach and cleavage should not be seen. Hoop earrings and excessive jewelry are not allowed. Bonnets are not allowed. Hair should be secured and out of the face. If a dancer is not prepared, they will be granted one warning. Repeated lack of preparation will risk termination of membership.

Dues/Fees

All dues are expected by the first of the month. If not paid by the set date, an additional $15 late fee will be added. If the balance remains unpaid by the next month’s deadline, the dancer cannot participate in class until all balances are paid in full. Maryland monthly dues are $75 (since Maryland meets twice a week); all other locations are $50. Members from the same household are discounted; $35 p/person and $60 p/person for Baltimore location.

Group Me

13:46 uses the “GroupMe” app to communicate important information and details for any upcoming engagements. Members are required to download the app and stay up-to-date with the notices. When dates and times are given in this app, dancers are expected to mark the information in their personal calendars and plan accordingly. The group message is also used to encourage and communicate with each other.

Pearls of Great Price

13:46 members are required to always represent a “Pearl of Great Price”. Our lives on social media should represent the ministry at its best. We are only effective ministers of dance when our lives are aligned with what we are ministering about. Members should always show respect and love to each other. Disrespect to any member or staff of the Pearl Empire is not tolerated and will cause termination of dancer’s membership.

Meetings

When meetings are called outside of the usual class/rehearsal time, members are asked to make every effort to attend. The executive director understands that everyone has personal obligations outside of the ministry, but when an urgent meeting is warranted, very important information and instructions will be given.

Engagements

13:46 has two major Encounters, in the Spring and Fall. Throughout the season, we also accept engagements to minister at various churches and events. Times and dates will be provided as event invitations are accepted. These outings are not required, but dancers are still asked to communicate their availability. If you know of anyone that may be interested in having us, please provide our email address  13.46dance@gmail.com and follow our booking procedures.

13:46 submits to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and believes in biblical principles.
